How we are run

The management of the Trust is led by a Board of Directors, this is made up of the Chair, five other Non-Executive Directors and Executive Directors including the Chief Executive. Through the unitary board they are responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation and are accountable for ensuring high standards of clinical and corporate governance, monitoring of performance and ensuring effective financial stewardship through value for money principles.

The Board provides leadership, to set the organisation's strategic aims, and to identify and maintain its values. All members are committed to the Seven Nolan Principles of Public Life and have met the Fit and Proper Person Test to be a member of an NHS organisation Board. They meet monthly and hold at least ten meetings in public session. Stakeholders, partners and members of the public are all welcome to attend and you can find a list of upcoming dates below.

STATEMENT ON PUBLIC ACCESS


Due to the NHS operational response to COVID-19 we have been unable to allow the public to join the public board meeting in person so have been having our meetings via Microsoft Teams. and papers and minutes of the meeting will be posted to the Trust website as soon as these are approved for publication.


Please be aware that Government social isolation requirements constitute ‘special reasons’ for exclusion of the public as permitted by legislation and as such the Trust had been meeting virtually since it's creation in April 2020.


Following relaxation of the restrictions and the Trust 's commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability to the public have taken the decision to allow members of the public to attend meetings in public session. In order to allow this we will be working to ensure safety of staff and the public through maintaining appropriate Covid security at these meetings. If you wish to observe the public session of our Board meetings, please email Elaine Doyle, Trust Secretary on elaine.doyle6@nhs.net. We are asking that anyone who has COVID to please not attend the sessions. 

Hand sanitiser will also be available at the 'in person' meetings.

George is a retired GP who worked in general practice for thirty-one years. He graduated from Glasgow University in 1978 and worked in Junior Doctor posts in Glasgow and Somerset.
